Your path to Spain in 6 steps
Whether you move here for good or only spend part of the year here: these are the steps ahead. I guide you through all six.
Six steps on your path

NIE number
Your personal foreigner identification number in Spain (Número de Identidad de Extranjero). Without it there is no bank account, no contract and no purchase. A lawyer from my network handles it, and I am by your side.
TipThe easiest way is a power of attorney: the lawyer takes care of everything on site, even before you arrive.

Bank account
Right after the NIE. I tell you which bank suits you. If you need financing, I put you in touch with a mortgage broker from my network.
TipIf you live in Spain, your NIE, ID and town hall registration certificate are usually enough. Without residence there is a non-resident account, usually with passport and NIE.

Town hall registration (Empadronamiento)
Your key to doctors and schools. One visit to the town hall with your rental or purchase contract.
TipFree of charge, but without it there is no health card and no school place.

Electricity, water, internet
Everything in your name. Here too via the lawyer, and I am by your side.
TipFor the electricity contract you need your NIE and a Spanish IBAN.
Even after you move in, I remain your personal contact.

Health and schools
Registered? Then health card and school place. With children, start early.
TipWithout access to the public system you usually need private health insurance. I can recommend providers from my network.

Taxes
From 183 days a year you are tax resident here. A job for a good tax adviser.
TipIf you live here, you declare foreign assets above €50,000 per category (Modelo 720). Without residence you pay the annual non-resident tax on your property (Modelo 210).
You don’t walk this path alone.
I tell you what comes next.
